Groundbreaking living wage clears final hurdle

In front of a crowd of supporters, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors voted Dec. 9 to approve a proposal from Supervisors Ken Yeager and Dave Cortese that makes sure that the living wage ordinance will be a comprehensive framework to attack poverty at its many roots.

The Dec. 9 vote represents the last hurdle that the living wage needed to clear before the Board can vote it into law.

The big vote to make it official is coming up:

Tuesday, December 16

9 a.m.

70 West Hedding, San Jose

Can you be there for the Board’s vote on whether Santa Clara County becomes home to the nation’s most comprehensive living wage ordinance?
